Molly Hartley is a 17-year old girl, who's still haunted by the demons in her past. One day after arriving from the school, her mother Jane stabs her daughter in the chest with the pair of scissors. By miracle Molly survives and Jane is sent to mental ward. Molly lives now with her father Robert, who moves them to a new town to make a new start at life. Stress level of Molly goes up again when she is soon to be 18 years old and has to become a new student at school and still
has nightmares of Jane's attack on her. The first student, who tries become a friend to Molly is Joseph Young, but since he has a girlfriend, their co-student Suzie, she tries to avoid him not to cause any problems. Molly is excused from the class because of the nose bleed and gets the panic attack when Alexis steps into the girls bathroom. A while later Molly is visiting guidance counselor, Dr. Emerson for the first time, in her office they talk about Molly's mother and her diagnosis, though Molly swears she doesn't remember anything from the night Jane stabbed her and Dr. Emerson promises to keep an eye on her, in case if she shows another symptoms. Robert pays a visit to Molly at school when he hears about her nose bleed and panic attack, he embarrasses her in front of Joseph and she runs to the car. Father follows her, promising
everything will fall into place, Molly finally confesses she has heard voices for some time and feels like losing her mind. Molly wakes up at the hospital after having another panic attack in the bathroom getting locked up by unknown force. After getting released from the hospital, Joseph invited Molly to his party, she puts idea off an first, but then decides to go with Leah. After getting into huge fight with Suzie over Joseph and Leah being too wasted to drive her home, Molly decides to meet up with her dad to get home. On the way she sees visions of her mother still wanting to tortue her. Molly arrives home after rough day at school, her mother appears, knife in her hand. She asks explanation from her and she gets one, turns out Molly was born dead after giving birth, she made a pact with the devil to bring her back back to life. It was clear from the beginning the Hartleys will only have Molly until she turns eightteen and then the devil owns her. Jane is accidentally killed and Robert comes home. Molly confronts him about the story Jane told her, Molly knocks  down Robert, escapes and asks help from the last person who can help her - Joseph. Molly enters Joseph's house, finding a suprise cake and candle. Dr. Emerson arrives shortly and Molly starts to feeling scared. Emerson offers Molly a chance for not sacrificing her soul to kill her father, but she chooses to stab herself. Some time later Molly talks with Robert's  psychiatrist, who has been locked up in mental ward. The doctor asks her to not give up on her father, but Molly gives a hint to him about moving on.
