Footloose (2011)

Remake of same-named movie from 1984.
After a night of hard partying, Bobby Moore and his four friends get drunk, drive over a bridge with a car into a truck and crash into it, they all die. After the accident, Bobby's father Reverend Shaw Moore, Reverend of little town Bomont and the city council make a rule, banning all unsupervised dancing in the city. Three years later, Boston born and raised teener, Ren McCormack arrives to town after his mother died from leukemia and father abandoned him and his cousins.
On a get together at the church, Ren puts his eye on Reverend's daughter, Ariel, though she is already dating with dirt-track driver Chuck Cranston. Ariel has changed since the death of Bobby, she has started to lie to her parents about her whereabouts and city rules also. First person Ren befriends at school is Willard, who introduces him to an accident that happened years ago and how there are certain rules in the town from there on - no loud music, dancing and parties for kids. Though despite
all the rules, there is a local snack bar, where its owner allows young people to listen loud music and dancing when law enforcement isn't around. One night Willard asks Ren to come and check it out. When Ren and Ariel got to dancing with each other really close, Reverend Moore visits the snack bar and they're all busted. Ren is brought to principal's office for owning a marijuana joint, but since there's no proof of the joint, he gets off with a warning. Pissed off, he goes blowing off some steam to listening loud music and dancing. When he's danced all the anger out of him, Ariel appears. They talk about Bomont and rules. Ren decides to get a petition, in which he present the town council and asks for repeal of law against dancing. Some time Ariel breaks her relationship off with Chuck and he realizes there's been something going on with her and Ren. They get into a huge fight which ends with Chuck attacking Ariel physically. The meeting over allowing young people to dance in Bomont goes bad for Ren and he's willing to give the idea up, but an idea is brought to him, the whole school can have the prom dance in Bayson. Ren heads to church to get permission from Reverend Moore to take Ariel to prom. Father Moore talks about trust and trusting their children in the church where whole town is located, she gives permission to have a senior prom in Bayson warehouse. Kids and their parents start to decore the warehouse. Ren picks Ariel up with his old car, they head to the prom and seems to be having a good time until Chuck attacks Willard
and they get into a fight, beating each other up. Ren and Willard beat them up and go back to the party.
